opinions on spark plug probs on spray

Hey guys.. I 'm having issues with my NX wet 150 shot...
ok here's the run down
94 z28 m6 headers basic bolt ons w/ inline f pump

last season I was running the 150 shot with lt1 edit programing and bosch +4s pn 4458, this ran well (unfortunatly platnum)

this season new opti msd wires etc... new champion copper plugs (colder) rs14yc6 -- dosnt run well... detonation, bad detonation
switched to ngk rs5724-8 race plugs gapped to .052, again detonation....

what it comes down to is the only differance has been the plugs...
the tts scanner during the last race showed that my air/fuel mix was alomst dead on...

I am open to suggestions on what should be done next..
regap ngk's to .035 ?????

first thing is to close the gap.

next, what fuel do you use? how much timing are you pulling?

sunoco 100 mixed with 76 approx 97oct.

I believe that I have an average of 11 deg taken out across the range... last run the knock count went through the roof and dropped the average to 21 degrees advance

what would you suggest for a re-gap?

.035

thats an insane amount of timing getting pulled. 11 is even too much to pull for a 150 hit. i pull 4-6 on my 175 shot, but run primarily 104 vp unleaded.

i shall re-gap the plugs.. hook up the laptop and cross my fingers...

Dirk is right on the money. Running .035 here as well.

You are pulling WAY too much timing. Timing that is too retarded will result in a hotter running motor...and will result in the very detonation you were trying to avoid!
