NX TPS switch bit the dust
When putting my system together, I used ALL NX stuff. EFI kit, Gen X-2, "Maximizer" controller, and NX TPS activation switch.
I've spent a few weeks getting the system wired, and I haven't even used it yet. Everything is wired as per NX's wiring diagram. Tonight I was testing my purge, and while doing so, my NX TPS switch activated. For those unfamiliar with the NX TPS switch, it taps into the factory TPS wire at the computer. When the TPS gets to 4.0 volts, it activates the NX TPS switch. On my system, it then sends a signal to the "Maximizer". This thing activated tonigth with the car NOT RUNNING ,and the throttle closed! This thing worked "as advertised" a few days ago when I was adjusting it.
I figured maybe it was getting a false signal from the TPS/computer, so I unhooked the activation wire. The LED stayed lit, and the switch stayed on! It now comes on as soon as the system is armed, and it starts running the program in the "Maximizer".
I'm certain this isn't a wiring problem. It activates with just the hot and ground hooked up...Even with the relay unhooked!
I planned on spraying for the first time tomorrow, but now it looks like I'll have to make motor passes only.
Anyone else have one of theses TPS switches? Anyone else has a problem with them?
Frank

I've turned the adjustment screw to it's extremes. This thig was working when I first put it on. This happened suddenly...I hadn't touched any adjustments.
NX told me to send it back, and they'd replace it. The only thing I've got to pay is shipping.

Sounds to me like the relay is bad and is stuck closed. Check all of your relays to be sure. Man that sucks. I was hoping to hear of a 10 sec pass this past weekend.

We'll try for that 10 second pass in a few weeks

You need to ditch that thing and get a manual swithc like mine. After that failure I'd be really scared to run that switch. If it were to fail...kaboom. You should go to Nucar and grab a mechanical swithc and try it out this weekend
Good Luck

Re: NX TPS switch bit the dust
Same thing just happened to me. Switch was fine for the first few runs, then I noticed like a surging effect. Looked at the TPS switch and it was glowing red when the key was turned ON/Accy - Nitrous system not armed.
Unplugged the wire to the TPS Sensor, and it was still lit! I played around with the ****, and got it to activate the system, but that red light is pissing me off. Before I send it back, I am going to isolate it from the system and see if it works. Mabey it is somehow feeding back + power somewhere in the system???

They told me It would work with my Holley t-body "with some slight modifications".
Hey Matt! Time to get the tools back out...LOL
