This is what I would say is a drag bike. You don't take a street bike to the flats to do top speed runs, unless you truly want to die.

On a normal street bike, however, it is just for the squid effect. People that do this are the same people that ride without a helmet or with sandals or with the helmet on the back, or in a wife beater.

Go to a riders forum and ask there. I am not the only one that has this opinion.

It's like making a 1000+hp street car.

It amazes me how busa riders all are the same way.

slowride, go easy with the N2O if your 'busa's motor is running stock pistons.
I've seen a few bikes put piston pieces out the exhaust during agressive nitrous runs. My plan has always been more headwork, and more cc's, but the crazy hp #'s, and the reliability the FI bikes have

Maxton is in NC. Go google the east coast timing association and you will see all you want to know. I've got tons of pics but I'm technically challenged at posting. Bike is currently for sale in the "cars wanted" section because I've decided I want a car again and I have other bikes.

No, I'm in Ohio and it's about 10 hours each way. I made my last runs last year, accomplished what I wanted to and it's time to move on to another project. They are a real helpful group and bikes rule down there because it's not ultimate top speed but only what you can do in 1 mile.

A turbo busa holds the fastest vehicle record at 256 mph and the record for a nitrous busa is 228 or so with 5 lbs of NOS on board.

Hey slowride,

What's your trap speed at 9.70?

I love the busa but have yet to ride one. Used to ride a CBR900 once upon a time.

Start small with the 30 kit, and don't stay "on the button" too long at first. Fuel tuning will be the important thing(obviously)
Check your plugs often for any signs of going lean, if you do go lean you will hurt those cast pistons.
A guy that used to ride with us decided to spray a CBR600 with enough juice to keep up with GSXR1000's. The piston damage was unbelieveable. The +1mm forged kit seems to taking it well. It hasn't been torn down yet, but there has been no loss of power from all of the N2O shots.
We had another guy in the group spray the hell out of an older ZX-11. He blew piston pieces out the exhaust trying to keep up with a "built" GSXR.
Just be smart and don't get too greedy 'till you know your set-up and you'll be fine.

Sounds like he needs to 60 foot a little better because 151 mph should be low low 9s. 9.70s are more like 143 mph. Unless he's spraying a little then his mph would be higher than expected.

it was weird the one run he would 60 good and not et or mph good, then he would 60 bad and mph really well? one dude asked if it were bike or rider.

it was the first time at the track with this bike ,one year no license ,he is a good rider but will get better

last night I read the east coast timing association web sight, I cant believe I've been driving past there so long.

Bad 60's can make mph go up slightly.
