NOS 5115 vs. 5176
NOS 5115 vs. 5176
I read the post from Feb. about the 5176 issues, and not adjustable what not. I am curious, if I use a 5115, will it experience the same thing as far as not being adjustable, i.e. will it run too rich with a lower hp setting? Is the issue with the LT1 engine, or the 5176 kit? Also, does anyone know if the jet hp ratings are the same for each kit? If not, which ratings should I follow? Thanks!
No offense, but that didn't really answer my question at all. I understand the 5176 comes with an inline pump, but I already have a high pressure walbro, so thats covered. Again, are the jet sizings the same?
brain,
I'm using the #5115 kit with success.
The jetting is not the same as the #5176 because the lower fuel pressure (no inline pump).
As far as I know, you can spray a 100rwhp shot without any problems, but it is really the borderline without the inline pump.
I have used the following jetting with success:
42N/59F - 50hp
47N/55F - 70hp
49N/55F - a tad leaner and bigger than with the 47N jet, but still safe
59N/46F - approx 100 rwhp (way to go)
I suggest you start a bit rich and lean it out from there. These settings worked great for me , absolutely no black smoke or whatever, O2's in the high 900s.
Tell me if you need further info.
