Is this normal or does it indicate a leak?
Is this normal or does it indicate a leak?
I just filled my bottle for the first time today and was checking for leaks. I opened the bottle and had a couple of leaks, but after tightening the fittings they went away. So I played with the purge for a bit then turned off the bottle. My digital N20 pressure guage is on the main line and was reading 800+ psi when I shut the bottle off. I went back out a few hours later and it dropped to 520 psi, then later it was 480, last time I checked it was down to about 300 psi. So should the main line between the bottle and the solenoid maintain a semi constant pressure with the bottle closed? Or do I have a small leak some place that maybe I didn't notice. Just want to make sure the pressure dropping is normal, or if I have to hunt down more leaks.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Don't know how, but it seems to escape even without "leaks."

Someone told me that this is normal, because nitrous when released from the bottle, turns or spilts into other gases that have lower pressure.
Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it.

It's either bleeding through the solenoid, or through the fittings. You dont need to leave pressure in the line - it's not good for the solenoid. Crack the line, purge through the motor, or get a purge solenoid.
Whether nitrous is pressurized in the bottle or in the line, it should still retain the same properties (otheriwise when it was transferred from the bulk bottle to your fill bottle, it would also change properties).
