NO2 on 383
NO2 on 383
I know there is a section for this but from how it looks people don't get too many responses in that section. So here's my ?.
I am goin to do a NOS Dry 100 Shot. What else should I get other than what I already have in the NOS kit. I have a bottle warmer and blanket already with what I am buying. Gauges, MSD 6AL, Remote Bottle opener, etc is what I am asking about. What are the necessities for this system, for safety and what not. Convienence (sp?) is not really a consideration, I just want to be able to monitor everything and make sure I don't mess up anything on the engine itself.

The NOS 5176 dry kit will include a WOT switch and the inline booster pump required to handle the higher pressure required when you spray. You should add a window switch, to prevent the system from engaging below maybe 3,000rpm. You also need to insure you are not going to hit the stock PCM rev limiter, which cuts fuel. Your best bet might have been to get the MSD Digital 6+ to take care of the rev limiter, spark retard, etc. all in one package. Since you have the 6AL already for the rev limter, you need a retard box.
Consider the addtion of a fuel pressure safety switch, to prevent the second nitrous solenoid in the NOS 5176 setup from opening if there is not adequate fuel pressure.
Since you have a high HP setup already, you should be running it with plugs at least 1 step colder than stock already. Spraying the 100-shot is marginal, but may require that you go 2 steps colder than stock (e.g. Autolite 103).
You might consider a purge kit, but that's not critical, unless you need total consistancy of the hit for bracket racing.
Putting on "moderator" hat..... moving to "N2O Tech".
