Nitrous UH-OH

I had this under another thread but thought that someone might be able to help me if I posted it differently. I sprayed on my ac delco platinums the other night and it melted the **** out of them. The car was running pretty bad, so I replaced them with NGK TR6's. Even though the new plugs made it run a little better, it is still missing through out the rpm range. And is running rich still. What else could I have done??? Could I have burned a valve. They are manley race flo's. I am going to do a compression test this weekend, but I need some possible solutions. Please no hole in the piston. Please no hole in the piston. Please no hole .......
Thanks for all the replies.

Test for the "Chug of Death"
With your car running, remove your dipstick. Rev the car by opening the TB plates with your hand. If you get tons of black smoke out of the dip stick hole when the engine revs are coming down, you are in trouble.

One possibility is that you melted the platinum pucks off the tips of the plugs. That would jam in the skirt and score the piston and cylinder walls. Those grooves would cause blow by and a serious loss of compression depending on the damage per cylinder.

Pull your plugs and look at how much material was "melted". You'll probably notice that the worst looking plugs may have the lowest compression. A leak down tester may be more effective for this test.

What size shot are you running? I hope you didn't hurt it too bad.

Rule of thumb............ don't spray on platinum plugs.... I know two people in my town that did this, and they both melted a piston..

I'm spraying 150 shot. I dont think that I did anything to the bottom end because I dont get any huffing or blowing out of the oil dipstick tube (which would indicate blow-by). I have narrowed it down to either my plug wires or I burnt a valve.

I know it may sound silly but it is something as simple as when you changed your plugs you crossed a wire somewhere? Could explain a rough idle and would be nice if that was your only problem too.
