Nitrous and track questions

I jsut installed my NX wet 100 shot a few months ago. I haven't had it to the track yet, but plan on it soon. What are the rules about running nitrous at the strip? What are the required parts that I need to have? Do I need a blow down tube? Also, would it be smart to mix 91 octane with 104 octane race fuel before I go? I've never done it before, but I think it would be alright. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

There aren't many NHRA rules pertaining to nitrous.... Bottle has to be DOT marked, if its in the passenger compartment (includes "hatch" area in a 4th Gen) you have to have a blowdown tube vented outside the car, system must be commercially available and installed per manufacturer's instructions.

I've been to tracks where they could care less about nitrous, others where they make you go through a tech with a "nitrous specialist" and mark "N2O" on the back window, and at least one NJ track where (about 3 years ago) the state police would hang out and check for the required "permit to possess" nitrous. You might want to check with people who have experience with your specific track.

Thanks for the help. I thought of another question about the rules at the track. I have the bottle mounted on a board in the hatch, but the board is not bolted to the floor. Does it have to be, or am I ok?

The bottle must be securely mounted to the vehicle. You might not want a 26# hunk of aluminum+nitrous banging around in the car with you, if you roll the car over.
