Nitrous timing retarding

I'm running an LE-2 setup right now. I'm running a stock ignition system. I just got a 125HP wet nitrous kit.

Should I go with an MSD type of ignition box with a timing retard or just retard the timing in the chip instead? I have no experience with the ignition boxes but I can edit my own bin files. I'm swaying towards the igintion box so I would have to run two different chips (one for NOS and one for normal). Although I'm not sure if the ignition box timing retard is just above a certain RPM or how that's configured.

Does anyone have a similiar situation?

I used a Mallory 685 ignition box. It seems to be the most popular and has never given me a single problem. Might try surfing the nitrous section though.

I would say the Mallory box has the upperhand versus having two programmed chips. With the Mallory, you not only get the timing reduction feature, but you also get a window switch, and the benefit of a hotter spark which might not be a bad thing for a heads/cam motor.
