Is nitrous smog legal in CA? Or am I going to have to hide it really good?

 

The only kit you can have is by NOS which has a EO#. Now alot of smog shop's/police look down at it. Smog is every two years so you can hide it, or disconnect it when it's time to smog. So you don't have to deal with many questions from the tech, or a cop when they pull you over. As for the police it will all depend on how they act when they talk to you.

 

If it has an EO# it is legal & they cannot fail you for that.

NOS had to use a full throttle switch (no activation button allowed) to "eliminate" the possibility of using it under part throttle operation, when emissions are of concern. Like anyone routinely uses the juice at part throttle.

Regardless, you must use a kit that has the EO# or it is not legal for street use.

But,
Use a little creativity, some heater hose to hide the braided lines & mount the solenoids out of sight & you can keep them from seing it. Flat black paint does wonders as well. Out of sight, out of mind......
