Is nitrous SAFE???
Hey guys, I just bought a NX Wet Kit for my '95 Z and it just came in today. I got all of the safety stuff as well. Now my parents are being @$$es and are going to make me ship/bring it back to where I got it from.
Here's what I need help with:
- I need help proving that nitrous is SAFE. Not "my engine won't blow" deffinition of safe, but I need to show my father that if I get in a car accident that the nitrous won't in his words "explode and disintigrate(sp?) me". I just
him. I am so mad and I need all you guys to chime in and prove my father wrong please so I can keep this.

You can always ask him how a NON FLAMMABLE gas can explode.
Nitrous doesnt burn,it wont blow up,and it wont disintigrate you.
Nitrous breaks down during the combustion cycle to provide the extra oxygen for power.

eh, it's not the the NITROUS explodes. It's the fact that the bottle can be at 1000psi and if the bottle gets punctured it will blow up like a pipe bomb from hell and probably ignite the gas tank if it's on the hatch. This is a possibility, but the bottle is built pretty solid but I'm sure a direct hit on the bottle buy a 100mph semi truck or a shotgun would say different,
Well...unfortunately im going to have to try and return the nitrous to T Byrne or try and sell it on here. I dunno what's goin on w/ T Byrne tho cuz I ordered the stuff and I got the EFI kit, but did not get my GenX-2 kit or NGK TR6 plugs. If any of you have offers I would really like to get all my money back from it. I opened the top of the EFI box to check out what was in there, but that is it. Other than that, it is totally enclosed, everything is there and not even opened. What is 4 sale or to be returned is the LT1 NX wet kit 50, 75, 100, or 150 adjustable kit w/ 10# bottle. The kit normally goes for $559.99 and the GenX-2 upgrade normally goes for $369.99. So i guess i can get try to sell it on here or return it. If i sell it i need to get $850 and buyer pays shipping, Im pretty firm on this price. lemme know...PM me or email me.
Check my thread in the FOR SALE section. I'd rather sell it to some1 on the board than return it because it is a good deal. its BRAND NEW.

bottle in my car(here is the part I tell them its NITROUS
Its not flammable and it sits in the middle of the car the safest place to be.)Then I ask them want to go for a ride
I always like the look I get lol.Talk them into keeping it and running (track only)a 100 shot is real safe getting into the 150-175-200 is when you start getting close to a stock motors limits.I run a 150 but I have a 175 jets waiting for a good track day with some 104 octane fuel.

my mother freaked at first too..then i educated her about it and now she just worries about me going too fast.... i asked her, Is that possible? too fast? lol NEVER!!!!!
it is possible for the bottle to explode in a couple of ways.... 1. cap the relief valve and throw the full bottle in an oven...2. anything is possible in an high speed accident, so i wont rule out a bottle blowing up in one. but IMOP, i would be more worried about the bottle breaking the brackets and launching like a torpedo, than it exploding... just my .02...
