Nitrous Line Fitting Cracked
This may be a stupid question, but here goes. My main nitrous line has a leak at the fitting. Upon closer inspection, I can see a crack in the brass insert inside of the fitting. Can new ends be put on or should I buy a new line?

That is a tricky answer, becuase it could be answered both ways. Yes and NO. Its not a normal braided line. It is teflon lined. They do make fittings for it, but it depends on the brand of the line. You have to make sure the fitting matches the line. You have to make sure the little ferral fits the teflon lining correctly. There are a couple different sizes. The fitting is a special fitting for that type of line. THey are a little more expensive, and a real pain in the *** to install. Might be easier to just get a new one. BUt that is expensive.

Go to a local Parker or Aeroquip hose dealer. They can put a new zinc plated fitting on for less than $10.00. I think I paid about $5 last time I had it done. You can probably get a stainless steel fitting installed for $10.00
