Which nitrous kit to buy?
Which nitrous kit to buy?
I have a 96Z A4 and am curious about nitrous. Does anyone know what company sells the easiest wet kit to install and what kit runs the cheapest(and still includes all necessary hardware). There are so many companies with so many different N2O kits that I don't know where to look. I just want something which can give a shot up to 150.
Re: Which nitrous kit to buy?
I like the kit i have. Was $500 with an inline fuel pump. It also comes with a WOT switch. I trap about 118mph in the 1/4 mile. And the installation was easy as ever. The only downside is that you rely on yor stock fuel injectors for the extra fuel. But for a 100 shot the fuel pressure doesn't get too extreme to cause failure. Knock on wood
The Zex Dry kit I have I got from JCwhitney.com. It comes with 75-100-125 shot jets.

what other parts did you need to buy after the kit?
Re: Which nitrous kit to buy?
to the best of my knowledge,NX has nothing to do with zex, they dont even have remotely close fogger nozzles.
If you want a wet kit (which he is referring to a dry kit) go for NX,they tend to sell for 500-550 if you look around.

Re: Which nitrous kit to buy?
As far as I know.. NX is the only company that has lifetime warranties on their solenoids.. Recently it seems that NX is the company that is always on the cutting edge of technology as well... First fully automatic bottle heater, first motorized bottle opener, first Nx'l injector setup, first fire & Ice bottle pressure stabilizer..... After they come out with something, every other company seems to follow suit.... Also NX doesn't even make a dry kit. When you go dry, you have to rely on your stock injectors to add the extra fuel.. On a wet shot, your stock fuel system is not changed at all, and a fuel solenoid adds the extra fuel. IMO I think wet systems are safer. NX is also the only company that rates their kits at REAR WHEEL horsepower gains... All others, rate them at the crank. I used to run NOS, and this year switched to NX.. After 2 NOS nitrous solenoid failures in one year, I've never had a single glitch with my new system. Just by looking at the equipment, the NX is just visually built with more quality... All of that is my honest opinion...
Re: Which nitrous kit to buy?
I just found a deal on a NX kit for 522 bucks brand new.......but I had an advertiser on this board price match it and I got it for a few bucks less even.
I have heard that NX and TNT have very good horsepower output compared to similar shots on a different brand. And I have heard nothing but good about NX and I am ordering my NX kit here within the next few weeks.

383lt1 is a buddy and we use a TNT kit on his car. We had to get longer t/b bolts and TR-6 NGK's but that was about it aside from grinding down the IAC housing and the Thermostat housing because of the plate. Aside from that everything went together great. Down to a 12.1 so far on the 150. may just take the jets out since the solenoids should only flow 300hp. Wonder if the short block can take it....But who cares when you're building a stroker and turbo motor

The NX Maf kit is the One I use, and I love it. It fits the nicest in my opinion and as it was said before NX has to be if not the best one of the best on the market.
