Nitrous issues...please help!!
Nitrous issues...please help!!
Ok, so I finally got my kit hooked up and fully installed last night. This is a TNT F1 kit on an LT1 car with a hotcam kit/headers on it. I started out with the 100 jets in the car (yes, I did double check to make sure the right jets are in). Also has an RPM window switch MSD.
The first time I hit it, the car would chug and sputter all the way until it shut off. So, I hit the purge and a lot of air comes out. I hit it again and it is a very smooth pull...couldn't feel any chugs at all. What is going on, why do I keep getting air in the lines or am I running the system lean??
The only thing that I can think of is that I have my nitrous/fuel lines from the solenoids to the plate sitting on top of the intake manifold (literally resting on the manifold) and I am wondering if this is boiling the stuff in the lines causing my concern.
Any suggestions??
The system hits HARD when it kicks in BTW...that I must say I am extremely pleased with.

Re: Nitrous issues...please help!!
Check all your wiring, make sure a hot wire isnt grounded or something like that. Make sure that the entire system is sealed and no leaks. just re check everything to make sure everything is good

No hot wires are grounded...I would most likely have burned my car to the ground by now with as much as I have ran the thing...he he
How would I know if there are any leaks...I checked all of the connections back by the bottle and at the plate/solenoid and I don't see anything spraying out at all. If I open the bottle and close the valve, the pressure holds pretty good and doesn't all bleed off right away.
My main question is...would it cause a concern leaving the nitrous/fuel lines laying on top of a hot intake manifold. I am wondering if they are getting heat soaked and boiling what is in the lines, which is why I am getting my air in there at times, but I dunno if that is possible or if anyone else has experienced this.
Could I used some spark plug heat tape/covers over the nitrous lines to keep them more insulated???

Ok, I found a low system voltage problem since I have an underdrive crank pulley and no overdrive alternator pulley. I fixed that with a new alternator pulley and I also remounted my solenoids so that the lines are not touching the intake anymore. Same issues are occurring. I thought that the alternator couldn't keep up with the 10 amps of current that the solenoids draw.
I took off my filter and shook the filter and it makes noise..is this normal??? I took it apart and there is just a couple springs and a little filter inside of it...it didn't look plugged. What else should I look for??? I monitored O2 sensor readings and they came out really rich compared to the ws6.com dyno runs...O2 sensor read 890-930 on the LH side and 920-950 on the RH side while spraying. Also found NO knock retard while spraying and I do have an upgraded 340gss walbro pump in the tank.
Sometimes I don't even feel the system kick in and other times the thing takes off like a raped ape...this is strange...I hate nitrous until I can figure this crap out.

FIXED!!!!!
Got er done....found that the WOT switch was just BARELY misadjusted and it was turning on and off the system. I put a more aggressive adjustment on it and it runs like a raped ape now...no sputtering or anything.
N20 is awesome!!!
