Nitrous/Fuel jets for custom wet nitrous kit?
Nitrous/Fuel jets for custom wet nitrous kit?
Hey there folks. I'm wondering what jets to use with a custom wet kit (converted NOS 5176 to wet with fuel solonoid and NOS Fogger 2 nozzle.)
The NOS catalog shows that a 150 shot is a 63N/71F and a 175 shot is 73N/82F.
However this is also for 5.5-6 psi of fuel pressure.
I'll be running about 49-52 psi at WOT...
So I'm guessing the fuel jets need to be downsized quite a bit.
And this is just to ballpark and get me close. I'll be dynotuning for correct jet sizes once I get some jet numbers to start with.
Also, how do you split jet sizes? So if I figure out a 150 shot is XXN/XXF then do I just figure out the surface area of the jet opening and then divide by two and then figure out diameter from there? Or is there an easy conversion chart?

FWIW<NX calls for a 62/35 for a 150 shot on 40 psi.
i would call NOS and get thier recommended jeting for the swingle nozzle efi kit.
94z'sson,there is no major problem running a carb style system on FI,you can either jet it for nhigher pressure,or run a dedicated fuel system to feed it.

Brian, I agree calling NOS may be in order, but a couple more data points for you:
My car made 151rwhp on 67N/35F. It made the same power but a bit more torque on 73N/39F.
Troy clark's car made 133rwhp on 76N/42F
Both were on the NOS TB plate setups, EFI pressures of course.
As far as splitting them, that would have been my guess, but what do I know...
If you need a batch 'o jets for your dyno session, you can use mine - I've got about 20 sizes.

WHYTLIE,
This is the jetting specs that a NOS tech told me to use with my single fogger wet kit using a fuel cheater and pro shot solenoid.
34/18 40HP
37/22 50HP
39/24 60HP
41/26 70HP
43/28 80HP
46/30 100HP
52/33 125HP
61/38 150HP (max for 1 nozzle)
Thats for an NOS kit @ about 42-43psi of fuel pressure.
Im going to use the standard fogger nozzle with the kit Im putting togethor.
Hope this helps,
Later

Yep, you were right... I called NOS tech and they said a 150 shot on an EFI fuel pressure wet kit would be 61N/38F and a single fogger nozzle is only good for 150 hp.
So now I know for sure that I am going to a dual nozzle setup once my fuel cell is done (75% done now... just need to get it all welded up...)
I already had the 39 and 61 jets, but went ahead and ordered the 38, 37, 36, 35, 34 jets for tuning the fuel curve on the bottle. I figure since I am running higher fuel pressure then I will need a slightly smaller jet.
NOS recomended to try going down in jet size by .002" during tuning... I doubt I will need to get down into the 2X's...
Now I have all the parts, it's just time to do the labor...
Thanks folks.

alright guys i have a wet system that includes nitrous works fuel/nitrous solenoids and the other parts are all nos brand parts purge, bottle, and i just ordered the fogger2 nozzle my main question is would i follow the nos jetting or the nitrous works jetting sizes. also another question is who makes a brass looking nozzle thats the one i tested my nitrous out and i couldnt really feel nothing with a: 42 n20 and a 26 fuel jets. is there something wrong here.????/
a brass/copper colored Nozzle is a Nitrous Works power wing.
If you use a NOS Fogger, call them and get thier jets.
The 42 is super small, sounds like a 50 shot or less. Also if your bottle pressure isnt high enough, you wont feel anything either.
