nitrous bottle brackets

anyone have custom brackets, something other then the typical plastic versions which came with my NOS ones would be nice. i'm trying to find some quick disconnect versions as well, maybe something in billet but doesn't have to be. tried searching and came up with 110 pages going through half with nothing there.

any suggestions or ideas on aftermarket brackets?

yes something similar to that, i would need the quick release more up towards the top of the bottle though... wouldn't necesssarily have to have a quick release but an easier meathod then the standard bolt and nut deal would be nice.

Re: nitrous bottle brackets

NOS makes an aluminum quick release bracket. It a split band, about 1.25" wide, with a bolt and a large plastic **** on one side and a ball-pin on the other side. Makes it a lot easier to swap out bottles than the standard NOS steel band with a single (barely long enough) bolt on one side.

will that pass track inspection with those pins? How are they held in? I like that set-up though.

I used the dynotune aluminum bottle brackets and they passed tech no problem. The bottle was empty and i wasn't running NOS at the time but it still passed tech.

Fred - Do you know if the NOS quick release bracket mounting holes are the same width/location as the regular NOS black plastic brackets that come with the kits? I'd really like to try the quick release brackets out, but I'd hate to have to drill new mounting holes.

Re: nitrous bottle brackets

The 10# bottle brackets that came with my ancient (~1994) NOS 5176 kit have two bolt holes on 5.25" centers. The newer NOS aluminum bottle brackets measure 4.75" center-to-center. The bracket holes look like they could be slotted to allow you to use the old mounting locations, if yours are 5.25" on center. It will be tight getting the bolts heads against the sides of the bracket, but I think it can be done.

I checked the width of the bracket, and they are a full 2" wide aluminum, with rubber liners over the full face of the inside of the strap, to prevent bottle scratches.
