New Best with 150hp Shot, Check out my times

First of all it was not ideal conditions for racing (DA was 3200 but who cares), but with that being said I am extremely happy with my results. I am running a Nitrous Works Plate kit with a 685 Mallory box, purge kit, and Zex bottle warmer. I am running the 150hp nitrous jet and the 175hp fuel jet as this seems to be the best mixture right now. I have some Delphi 32# injectors that I know the motor needs without the Nitrous so that could be why I have to run the different jets. I am pulling 8 degrees of timing and spraying through the 1-2 shift, but not through 2-3 (Stock tranny, what can I say). Car is full weight with 4 subs 2 amps and me ~290. Now for some times:

Before nitrous:
1.91 60'
8.449 1/8
82.68 1/8 mph
13.24 1/4
102.72 1/4 mph

With 150 Shot:
1.96 60'
8.20 1/8
86.61 1/8 mph
12.58 1/4
113.92 1/4 mph

Gains .66 and 11.2 mph

Car has a XE230/236 cam w/1.6 rockers, Speed Pro Forged pistons, stock rods and crank, SLP shorties, and a 3400 Vigilante converter.

Its interesting information you posted there! 11 MPH... I can't wait to try out my kit when it's done!

BTW, does your LT1 have stock, unported heads?

8* of timing? Isnt the rule of thumb 2* per 100 shot?

Do you know what your A/F is while going the 1/4 mile?

To me, I think you still have alot of ET left in her and a potential 11 sec pass on the jug. I mean, a 13.24 on motor is pretty damn good for a "couple of mods" in your LT1 and full race weight + subs and amps.. I think that you are not maximizing the full 150 shot and it seems like maybe WAY to rich or TOO much timing. just a thought.

I know I have an LS1 but I can/have been dropping a full sec. from 11.8 to a 10.8 on the 100 shot.

I am pulling that much timing because the timing is advanced due to the cam and I really do not want to grenade the motor. I am still waitng for pcmforless to do another dynotune at the local dyno we use ,with Alvin since my LT1 is from a 93. I have an Innoivate LM-1 that I took with me with a bolt on flange for the cutout, but it would not fit because the bolt holes did not line up correctly.(Who would of figured Hedman cutout+hedman flange= wont bolt onto each other) I am going to try and go again when it is cooler and check with the wideband. I think that I may be having problems with my plate kit and am looking into getting a plate from nitrodaves this winter. I got the kit for free so I figured why not try it, but I have since found out that it does not have a great spray pattern.

As for the heads, I gasket matched them myself, but I really would not clarify it as ported as I propbably did not do much if anything. They have stock size Manley race flos in them.

Car made 329whp and 322tq on a portable dyno on the Power Tour without nitrous.

Yeah I would say something is not right with your N20 setup... I run a 8.03 on a 150 shot with the 305 TBI that was before I got my car tuned. I will be taking it to the 1/4 on the 28th to see if I can get close to the 11's

With 320rwhp you should be able to run at least 12.50's@108-110mph so it sounds like your tune is way off. Also what gears and tires are you running b/c you should be able to get your 60's much lower than 1.9's. Goodluck and keep practicing.

Interesting info since i have the same nitrous kit! Here are my results. As you can see, im probably the worst drag racer alive.

Here are my details

1/8 : 8.9440 --> 8.7320
1/8 mph : 80.34 --> 88.23 --> +7.89 mph
1/4 : 13.7180 --> 13.0269
mph : 102.74 --> 115.12 --> +12.38 mph

94 z28 m6: cai, mac mids, magnaflow catback, 125 shot, autolite 104's, 3 degrees timing pulled via mallory 685, stock motor, street tires.

First off I know that my car is heavy and is more than likely costing me a few tenths right off the top. The closest track is not preped very well on TNT nights so I have not even gotten close to my previous best of 1.81 at another track on TNT (still not great I know) but I have problems with the car pushing the crappy stock brakes when I stall the car. I am running MT ET Street Radials 275/50R15 and have a 3.73 gear in the 9 bolt. Bottle pressure was ~1050 for other runs but on this run it had dropped to about 900-950and I think it is getting low. This is the first and only run I did with spraying through the 1-2 and I am still getting the car dialed in so I know there is more in it, hopefully I can get some more datalogs done and send them to Alvin to get my car closer. Thanks for the help and encouragement.

Have you tried flashing the converter instead of stalling it up? My Vig. 2800 and now the Yank 3600 both preferred to be flashed. Consistent 1.65s doing it this way for me. Your results may vary.
