Need Suggestions
Hiyas, I have been building small blocks for a long time, but never messed with NOS. Just wondering if anyone can give me some pointers.
The Car:
1979 Camaro Z-28 Approx: 3500lbs
The Engine (has around 10k miles on it)
383 Stroker Bal./BP.
Block: 350 2-bolt main .030 over
Crank: Summit Cast Steel 3.75 stroker
Rods: Summit Stage 2
Pistons: JE Ultralights PN:JEP-105041-8
Heads: 333882 Casting 1.94's Mild Porting
Cam: Hyd. Comp. XE-262H Lift:.462/469 Dur.@.50: .218/.224
Intake: Edelbrock Performer RPM
Carb: Edelbrock Performer 750cfm
Exhaust: 1 7/8" Hookers, 2.5" Flowmasters
Drivetrain:
Trans: Muncie M-21
Clutch: Centerforce Stage 3
Driveline: Stock
Rearend: '82 10-bolt w/3.08's and Posi.
Note: Traction Bars, and Werer Sway Bar
How much NOS can this engine handle 100 shot, 200, 300??
And what will it do to my drivetrain, will i need to upgrade to avoid breakage?

Re: Need Suggestions
Nitrous allows you to up the horsepower to more than your engine can take. If you have a crank that will break at 500hp, it will still break at 500hp on NOS. If you have a 300hp N/A engine, put in 200. if 400hp then 100. The hard part is knowing how much it will take before it goes bang. I stuffed that up on my own motor, and you should know better than anyone how much hp the bottom end is capable off. just make sure it doesn't knock and that it has heeps off fuel for the NOS. then don't get greddy, the steps up in hp are small but can add up quick. I split a bore on my 327 with 175hp in the plate and 200hp in the foggers. N/A+175+200=split bore. Now I know what hp the block was good for, but Iwas also being unreasonable to expect a standard block to last. hindsight is always 20/20
