N2O and a supercharger...

Just wondering what all would be involved in adding N20 to a supercharged application? Assuming a wet system with all the supporting mods such as window switch and bottle heater, what all would need to be changed? Would I need to change to a different spark plug? Would I need to get a new tune? How would the nitrous be effected by the methanol injection?

With the tune, the things that will need to be changed will depend on how aggressive your tune up is currently, and how much nitrous you want to add. Look at almost like you are adding more boost. You might need to go colder on the plug but reading the plugs would be the most accurate way of knowing. You also might need to pull a little timing.

All of these will depend on where your tune is currently. If you are on the conservitive side and only wanting to run a 35 shot to help with cooling the intake charge and adding a little power, you might not have to change anything.

Tune was pretty safe. He told me he could add a couple more degrees but then it wouldn't be on the safe side anymore, so I told him to leave it conservative. I am running the autolite 3323 (I think) at .032 gap. I was looking more for the additional power more than cooling as my methanol injection and large FMIC already keep things pretty cool. I would like something around 75-100 shot but just wanted to know what all would be involved with doing that the right way.

Adding a 100HP will make a ton more torque and more than 100HP on a boosted a setup so start small with the n2o, (50HP), pull a little timing and run the car. Check the plug to see if there are any signs of detonation. If you are not very familiar with reading plugs then you should bring it to the dyno so someone can help you and make sure it doesn't go lean. As long as you have enough fuel, enough timing pulled and no detonation you can spray 200+HP but part failure maybe a problem at that level, like stock block etc... Good luck

Fully forged 8.8:1 CR block, not worried about it not handling it. I could safely run 22+#'s of boost, and am only running 15, so its got plenty of room left.

Thanks for the info. Anyone else?

My Procharger unit is already maxed out. I'd have to step up to a larger one to get more power/boost out of a blower. But that would get into changing a bunch of stuff, not to mention expensive to buy, and then having to sell my D1SC..... ect, ect, ect,. Not to mention its already on the edge of loosing traction in 1st gear. Any more power down low and I would have too much power which equates to unusable power. I just need/want a little more power up top where I know it would still hook to the ground, and a shot of nitrous would be inexpensive, and would work perfectly for this.
