N20 on a third gen?

I just bought an IROC and I was wondering if anybody knows how well the car would hold up to a hit of n2o. The car only has 74K miles and it seems to be in great shape.

Mine has roughly 70,000 miles also and it's been holding just fine with a heavy dose. What year IROC-Z? 305 or 350? Tune Port Injected? I ran an LT1 wet kit on my TPI setup with good results but companies make them specifically for thirdgen TPI cars also. Nitrous Express is in my corner ding ding ding

Get a good kit (NOS #5151) and 100 (305) and 150 (350) is no problem. I have a factory stock 105k old L98 and with 150 jets last week ran 12.18, 12.12 and the last run was 12.11 the next trip to the track will be with 180 and then 210 HP jets. We will see how fast a factory stock never had the valve covers off L98 can go.

Update;

Got one run in last night with 82/46 jets and when I picked up my time slip she told me to go home and get a roll bar, fire jacket, drive shaft loop, 5 point belts and some other things so after getting my run card from me she gave me the time slip.

11.614 @ 115.44 1/4

A 82 nitrous jet in the N.O.S. book is 210hp

Still not bad for a stock L98 if I can get to the track one more time I will try 250hp

Just keep up with the fuel man I'm also "testing" a stock long block myself. 305 however with a 150 shot so far. 480lbs worth of nitrous so far, 270lbs of that at the 150 level and not a glich yet. Not sure if the stock pump can support a 200 hit really, I'd be running it really rich also just to keep it safe. Wish me luck, it MAY happen soon. It's an NX kit also BTW.

Awesome numbers!

Hey JerryWho

How did you jet past the 150 mark on a NOS 5151? I thought the spray bar would limit you at 150 on that kit. I just bought a 5151 and I will be installing soon. I will start with 75 shot and move up to 150 gradually and with traction. I assumed that 150 would be the max I could squeeze with this kit.

I've been searching through posts all day trying to figure out what to run on my TPI 350. Did you ever make it back to the track? Is it still holding up? TIA

Re: N20 on a third gen?

I had a 305 TBI and ran a 125 shot on it all the time. Never had a single problem with it and it had 90k+ miles on it.

Safely with a fuel pump you can spray a 150 wet.
