Msd Window Switch????????

dose anyone know how to wire the msd window switch for a ls1? if anyone could help that would be great.

Black wire - goes to ground
Red wire -connects to a switched 12v source? so does that mean i have to put the window switch on a switch? and have to turn it on before it is active?
yellow wire- connects to the ground of the device i plan to activate.
red wire- connects to negative on the coil terminal on inductive ignitions so where does this wire connect to on a ls1??

please help i hope to run my car this weekend?

Re: Msd Window Switch????????

I haven't used one, but from what you said, yellow should probably go to ground on a relay. If your device pulls any amps, even though your providing ground it should be sufficient ground (and the MSD window switch probably has like a 16ga wire, if nothing else check to see how many amps the MSD will handle).

The red wire can be however you want (like you said will work if you want like an arm switch for your nos solenoids). Once you have power on this wire it will ground the yellow one when the rpm is reached.

Re: Msd Window Switch????????

goes to the tach signal wire coming out of the PCM. also on LS1's you need to run the window switch in 4 cylinder mode

Re: Msd Window Switch????????

for LT1 you run the switch in normal v8 mode. LS1's send a ignition signal that is the same as a typical 4 cylinder due to thier distributorless coil pack setup, so you need to run the switch in 4cyl mode for it to activate at the proper RPMs.

the tach wire is white, will have to look up which connector and what pin # it is since i dont remember off the top of my head from the ones i have done

Re: Msd Window Switch????????

on LS1's it is Pin #10 on the red PCM connector, white wire that you need to splice into, except on 98s only it is pin 35 on the blue connector

Re: Msd Window Switch????????

if they are saying you need thier new digital window switch, they are full of crap. they are probably saying that because they think you need to have a switch that you can run in 1 cylinder mode since the LS1 has a coil for every cylinder. in the instructions for thier new digital switch they say for LS1s to put it in 1 cylinder mode, which is wrong. i installed one of those new switches on an LS1 (2002) and it needed to be in 4 cylinder mode to read the right RPM just like the non-digital switches

Re: Msd Window Switch????????

97-98 LS1 hooks into pin #35. 99 and up LS1 hooks into pin #10. I forget which color connector though. It has to be in 4 cyl mode.

What about using the digital witch on an LT1 with the Delteq system? How would that be set-up? would that have to be in 4 cylinder mode or in 8?
