Talking many nitrous questions from a juice newb

hey all, im new to the juice and I have a few questions about different setups for the lt1. Ive done some research and tried to weigh out pros and cons of the wet and dry setups. At first, i was 100% set on a dry setup, I figured why throw fuel into an air-only intake and risk a nasty backfire? But now as I research more, it seems that ls1s and lt1s respond differently to nitrous. It sounds like due to the nature of the lt1 stock injectors, they can lock up under high pressure. I also read somewhere that the lt1 dry kits use some sort of pressure bleeding device to control the fuel pressure to the injectors and not the simple MAF sensing that ls1s use . Also. it looks like most of the lt1 juicers use a wet setup, so Ive kind of changed my mind. If it was a huge problem then I think people would post it. Any opinions would be great, I also have a few other questions:

-What is better for atomizing and distributing the mix in a wet setup, a nozzle or a plate? What is more expensive and what performs better?

-I want to start by running a 100 shot of wet nitrous, what are some recommended kits? Should I just buy the parts seperately and build my own kit? How big a shot can I run on a stock lt1 while still being safe? I hear about a guy named Nitro Dave who is very good with this kind of stuff.

-When I install my kit, what will I have to upgrade on an lt1 with stock internals? How about the fuel pump?

-Can someone better explain the dry lt1 setup to me? Im not really interested in it, Im just curious.

-What are some good safety devices to use? I have an a4. I guess Id need a WOT switch, window switch, arming switch and fuel pressure switch. I want to do this as safe as possible to minimize engine damage, so I dont mind putting out some more cash and knowing nothing is going to crap out on me.

-Has anyone routed a pushbutton onto the steering wheel or anything for arming?

-How do you hook up fuel pressure guages and bottle pressure guages? Are there any other guages that I should consider?

-I hear NX comes with lifetime warranties on its solenoids, does that mean that you will never have to buy a replacement solenoid as long as you own your car?

-As far as purge goes, do the kits come with a seperate purge solenoid or do you need to buy an add on? Is purge very important for a wet system in making sure that fuel and nitrous come out at the same time when you hit it?

-With the bottle, is it true that it has to be mounted at a certain angle to work right? Also, I hear a bottle heater is very important, what is a good one?

sorry for the long post guys, I just want to be really sure of what Im doing so that I dont regret it. Thanks for any help or advice

No time for answers except to the basic issue of "wet v. dry". I like 'em wet. Mostly due to being much easier to tune. If you are shooitn a lot of nitrous, I'd say go for some sort of indiviual nozzle "port system. But for the typical 100-150 shot, a single jet seems to work fine on an LT1. As far as I am concerned, a WOT switch and a window switch are absolute necessities to run nitrous safely.

Many of these questions have been answered on this board. Continue doing your homework using the Search function. Also many of the manufacturers have good FAQs on their websites.

Most of your questions show you're pointed in the right direction, so I'm not going to answer each one, but instead confirm what both guys above said...keep reading, but I'd highly recommend going with the NX wet kit with a nozzle and all the safety devices you listed above...buy from Nitro Dave, he's awesome to deal with. The instructions are very straight-forward and include answers to most of what you ask; i.e. yes the bottle does need to be mounted at an angle, etc. Dave can probably provide the instructions to you in advance and that'll help you decide...drop him a PM. You can't go wrong with the NX kit...
