mallory settings

what would be the best settings for the mallory box??

im running a 100 shot plus everything in my sig

my computer is redlined at 6600 and the shiftpoints are at 6150 (A4)

soo far i have the window switch to open at 3000rpm and to shuttoff at 6100(should i go lower?)

im just confsed about the rest of the settings, Ie: wich setting do i used for the timing retard and how much ?

Re: mallory settings

Most seem to agree to remove 2 degrees for every 50 shot. Seems like the yellow wire is the retard function? Is that what you're asking?

im asking about the settings on the box, they are listed 1-8?

i know 4-5 control the window switch , im just asking what other run on each of their settings, i know a few i dont have to use, but which setting do u use for the timing retard. There are few that use a retard function , one for ignition/starting and there are others.

Honsestly i havent gotten to in depth with the directions which i shall do later , but im just interested in cing how other ppl run their settup

Re: mallory settings

Make sure your Hyfire RPM limiter is lower than what is set in the PCM (ECU) otherwise you will hit the latter before the former. The advantage of the Mallory limiter is that it cuts spark rather than fuel like the factory setting in the ECU. As for the RPM window, unless you have some internal engine modifications, I would set the high to several hundred rpm before the rpm shift point. I have my window at 3800 - 5400. I am pulling 5 degrees on a 125 shot because I have a tune in the pcm that has advanced timing slightly. If you don't have a tune then 2 - 4 degrees is plenty; some run a 100 shot without pulling any timing at all.

yes i though 50 rpm for teh window swtich to go off was pushing it , i will lower it as soon as i can test drive it

right now i have the rpm limiter (mode1?) set to 6500 which is 100 less than my stock is, is that ok?

as for the timing retard, which mode do i used, i belive it was 3 or 4 i dont have the directions at teh moment. i shoudl take about 3-4 degrees out for it? alos i believe it said timing is is adjusted in incriments of .1 , hopefully that doesnt f-me lol

Re: mallory settings

i have one myself. i THINK i am using it right.
MODE 3 looks like this. 5.0 3 <<< the 3 is mode 3 and the 5.0 hopefully means that the timing is retarded 5 degrees.

on a 150 shot with the setting at 6.0, my exhaust pops and the car dont run right. with the timing at 15.0 ( the most u can go back) the car barely moves.
with it at 1.0 ( i assume that is the stock setting) it runs alot better.
keep in mind i am having issues on the bottle, so i assume this is not the same as everyone elses.
just figured i would throw that out there so u had more of an idea.

let us know what works best for u.

You need to wire up the timing retard so it only pulls timing when the nitrous is spraying. I hooked up the wire to the power side of my nitrous solinoid.
