Well, I decided I didn't wanna mess with routing all the wires to move it to the trunk. So I went down to radio shack, picked me up a fairly small 12 volt fan, cut a hole in the back of my glovebox and mounted it. The fan works great, keeps it nice and cool. I will try to get a pic up sometime today. I just ran the positive side over to my fuse box where my shift light is hooked up so it only gets power when the car is running or the key is in the on position.

I think the idea that the CDI intensifiers reduce the life of the optispark by a margin. If it is 5-10 or 20 percent then your mileage doesn't prove it out beyond your experience. It is also unproven to diminish the life of the distributor (AFAIK) and I think the idea came from the fact that these CDI units supercharge the ignition. I choose not to have mine in the system full time for that logic and the fact that it simply isn't necessary. The factory ignition output is more than adequate for my street driving. The Mallory 685 gives us a neat way to opt-out with the a handy loopback connector, especially if the unit is within easy reach where you can see that cool LED display and manipulate parameters at any moment.
