LT1 Direct Port Nozzle Pics?
LT1 Direct Port Nozzle Pics?
I am getting all the info and parts to setup a direct port on my LT1 with the NX distribution block and piranha nozzles.
Example

I need some close up shots of each side on how you drill and tap the manifold, Not reallly how, But where
And some finished product pictures with the nozzle in the intake would be great

Re: LT1 Direct Port Nozzle Pics?
Haha...That's mine! (Looks good huh?)
I'll tell you honestly that there have to be better places to mount them. The placement you see is the "cookie cutter" placement. The problem is getting the nozzle deep enough into the runner to spray at the injector. I looked EVERYWHERE to try and find an answer to this same question with my intake...and couldn't find much. I spoke with Dave at Nitrous Outlet (who also installs them) and that is how he does them and how he has seen them done. The tip ends up directly under the injector and somewhat aims at the wall/lip of the intake. If you choose to mount them like this, make sure to get them in DEEP. The deeper it is, the closer it gets to aiming at the intake valve.
The conclusion I came to was that as long as it sprays in the general direction, the vacume of air moving into the cylinder will just pull all the nitrous in. Others mentioned this to me too. I personally think that mounting it on the side of the runner (the flat parts perpendicular to where mine are) would give a better shot at the valve, but that is just my oppinion.
I'll host a bunch of pictures of my intake and the nozzle placement tonight. They will give a pretty good depiciton of where the nozzles are and the angle.
**I do however recommend that you pay someone to isntall the system. I have no idea what your skill level is, but plumbing the intake would be easy to screw up. I bought mine plumbled like the pic (from a member here) so I didn't do the work.

Re: LT1 Direct Port Nozzle Pics?
Not the best picture, but here is how mine were installed. A little different than most others I have seen on an LT1.

Dave,
Your placement is exactly what I was refering to in my post about potential placement. Where yours are, or even farther down the side seems optimal to me.
Looks good.

Re: LT1 Direct Port Nozzle Pics?

Was that in the way of the injector at all....That looks really interesting....
Re: LT1 Direct Port Nozzle Pics?
Your going to have to surf though the pictures to find what you want or think is useful...but here are a bunch of pictures showing nozzle placement, angle and deapth.

Sorry they aren't named, I was too lazy.
FYI: Those pictures were before I tapped the hole a bit farther. The nozzles now sit about a full turn deeper. It corrected some of the angle issues and got them past the edge of the intake. Still not optimal, but I haven't noticed any problems. Same with the fuel injectors, they spray right over them and haven't noticed any problems. It all just gets sucked into the cylinder.

Re: LT1 Direct Port Nozzle Pics?
LT4 Direct Port
The nozzle placement is right in front of the injectors on mine as well. They were almost placed to low on the intake runner, I had to cut a little out of my valve covers. Stock valve covers might have work perfectly though, they have a smaller base than these did.
The intake was ported, drilled, and tapped by Race-Prep
The plumbing I had NXRicky do. Both were turned out awesome, I would never do the plumbing again on one of these things.

valve covers
Price:$450
They're pricey and it took a couple months, but well worth it if you ask me.
