LT-4 knock module W/N20?

I was wondering if any of you guys are runniing a LT-4 knock module while spraying? I just had my PCM tuned for my new motor and it was recommened that I use the LT-4 module. I'm kind of worried about detonation while spraying my 150 shot. Any suggestions anyone?

I run the LT4 KM with a 150 shot,and have no problems with detonation.

Just make sure you have a good fuel system,and pull some timing and use the right plugs.

I wouldnt use the lt4 km on an obd1 pcm.......its really designed to work with the obd2 sensors......I was using it and then went back to the stocker and actually see less knock overall now.

So...do you think I'll have any tuning issues if don't use the LT4 km? the place that I had tune the PCM said that I should use it for proper operation of the new programming. They did know I was spraying the 150 shot. I'm not to worried about fuel, I'm running Accel 30# injector with a ad on ATI inline pump. (confused)

Same Here.....i also do my own tuning and have the spark knock retard completely off at WOT (above 90kPa). however, when i spray i pull 2* through my Mallory HY fire...

i probably wouldnt take the chance,
plus you get to sell it and get like 25

but i have one now and will be spraying later on...so this is a good topic for me as well..

Well...some of you guys say use it and some say dont....as far as fuel and plugs go, I know I'm good. I just don't want a excessive amount of timing pulled by the computer cause of the roller rockers and headers are being mistaken for knock by the original module. I have been told the original module can pull anywhere from 5 to 15 deg. out of the timing cause of picking up false knock. Well I think I'm just going to do it. Besides its only a brand new motor....at least I'll go down in the blaze of glory!

RED FLAG here! If they didnt know you were gonna run a 150 shot they most likley programmed in more aggressive timimg. You or they need to go into you WOT timing (above 95kpa and above the rpm you plan to engage the shot) and go 4 deg below the STOCK numbers. Of coarse you can use an ignition box to pull timing too, but you need to know what the pcm spark table is set at. Dont take any chances with a 150 shot....you need to be sure you are in a safe zone.

Opps....misread that. Even if they did know I you were spraying a 150 shot I would still make sure of the timing #s

Well, I guess I could call the place that tuned the PCM, but the company is in MO and I'm in CO...so I'm not sure how much help that will be. I might just hold off on installing the module till I see how the car runs with the stock one in place. I had no problem running the 150 shot on the old stock motor. I installed the Nx 150 kit at 52K and just pulled the old motor out 2 weeks ago at 143K. I never had a problem and the old motor and it was still kicking *** when I pulled it. I just dont want Excessive timing pulled cause of the noise from the roller rockers. Oh well, We'll see..........

if i remember correctly, i have my spark advanced 3* from stock at WOT, and pull 2* back when my sytem is armed for a 150 shot. this means that i am still advanced 1* over stock on a 150 shot. i also monitor my car with datamaster and i tune AFR on with a wideband, that may make a difference.

What are you using to pull timing back? Are you using a MSD Timing control system?

to pull spark, i use a Mallory HyFire VI model number 685 digital ignition. it has 2 rev limiters, a window switch, selectable timing retard, and some other features. only problem with it is that i mounted it in the glove box and i pick up a lot of false knock because it is too close to the PCM. i think if i were to put it anywhere else, i would mount it in the rear cargo area (maybe under my N2O bottle in the spare tire well).

you put that new motor in just so when I get there next week I wouldn't embarass you. I will anyways, I might have to sabotage her. Oh by the way my nitto dr with 10,000 miles on it is almost a full slick.
