LS1 kit work for LT1?
I have a guy selling a LS1 5177 NOS kit for $425 and I was wondering if that kit would work for my LT1? It's a dry kit and the only thing that I would need is a longer line that I can think of. Can someone please help me with this.
Thanks,

You might want to do a search... I know this same question has been asked several times before.
The LS1 NOS-5177 kit sprays through the MAF sensor. Not recommended on an LT1. NOS claims it works on the LS1 because the computer has a faster processor, and because the computer does not drop out of closed loop at WOT. I've had a few people dispute that last item, but that's how NOS explained it in an article in one of the popular F-Body mag's.
The LT1 NOS-1576 kit sprays after the MAF sensor, and uses boosted fuel pressure to add the extra fuel. So, the two systems are completely different, at least the way NOS designed them to be installed.
I have seen posts here from a couple of LT1 owners who have sprayed successfully through the MAF, but you have to be very careful not to get direct impingement of N2O on the sensor element. And you would have to be extremely thorough in setting it up and examining the plugs, to insure what is sort of a "hit or miss" approach to fuel addition is working correctly.
How about you sell me the LS1 kit for my 2001 Silverado... .

Yeah, I just called NOS and they told me that I had to get a fuel pump, a new line and nozzle, and I believe they also said some new selonoids, can't remember. Basically, it's not worth me doing all that and spending all that money when I could easily just buy a LT1 kit. I haven't bought the kit but it's going for $425 on the www.Houston-F-Body.Org website.
