Damn right I believe what a nos technician just told me yesterday on the phone.Also there you go again with your holier than thou statements like you know it all and we know nothing.Injuneer put it best when he told the guy what he was sure of.He explained it rationally, made his point and it was taken.The thread starter can do research now and come to his own conclusions.

My appologies to the thread starter

Click on this link that the nos tech told me to go to.

http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...o/KitList.html

The newer 5176 kits may have gone adjustable , but I have not been told this nor can find it on the manufacturers website.
If I am wrong then please forgive the wrong info.

Take care
Mike

Will everybody that has access to the build of materials for this kit please stand up. This kit is not adjustable nor has it ever been adjustable from the factory. That being said it is still a basic dry kit and has the ability to be adjusted but it dose not come that way or has it ever.

Are you saying NOS never sold an "optional" add-on for the 5176, that included the brass flare jet "tee" for the vacuum line? And are you saying that no one from NOS ever supplied a list of nitroius/"fuel" jet sizes for various HP levels?

If so, you are just forcing me to go into my files and see if I can find the invoice for the brass flare jet kit, which I ordered direct from NOS (while they were still in the previous location), after an extended discussion with one of the NOS "techs".

I'm saying the kit always came with the brass tee the kit wouldn't work properly with out it. And as I stated the kit is still a dry kit and can be adjusted by buying diffrent parts but the kit is not adjustasble as shipped. So yes you could call us up and I could tell you how to adjust it higher or lower but the kit 05176NOS is not sold as an adjustable kit or has it ever been. If you try and go lower then the 67 jet that comes with the kit chances are it will run rich. You could go up on the bypass jet which will lower the outlet pressure of the nitrous regulator but there is no set jetting for that it is something you would have to play around with.

Notice the topic Generalizes LT1, LS1, ZR1 V-8s and 1994-Later
V-6 Passenger Car Engines,
1999-2000 GM pickups

If you will follow the link I just gave it is one step further than where you found this link.

snow2000SS is a NOS tech and he is even telling you , but by all means put a #73 Jet in the needle and see what happens.
I tried it once and the car hessitated horribly so I shut the run down.Let us know what you find out.

Man that funny, when I bought my kit it came with a mess of jets and there is a jet in the brass T. So how can this be, This kit must be fully ADJUSTABLE. In fact like Injuneer said, I ordered these parts seprate when I lost the little piece that hold the jet in the brass T. And I was spraying with the vacuum t not even hooked up so don't say that can't be done cause I have done it. I dont have the bill in front of me but that tee was pricy so I just tryed it with out it for a while. Worked fine for me. So NEVER is a big word. Do you know that saying NEVER SAY NEVER.

For all those who were offened. What can I say that was the point?

As for the Holley/NOS tech? He is as lost as any. Good thing his field rep has a clue.

Since NOS was bought out by Holley it has went to hell in a hand basket IMHO. I used to buy nothing BUT NOS for years. Save for the Kit I have now I wont touch them.

Here are the Thigs "I" got from people on this board,the guy I bought the kit from (#05176EO) and some Dyno time. The instrustions for my upgrade kit were lost so i had to look every where for this info.

First thing every single person running this kit should do is get SVO(or better) 24# injecters because if Pressure gets high injecters WILL lock and blow pistons from lean condition.

here are known N2O jets
.034=50hp
.039=69hp
.042=70hp
.045=80hp
.049=100hp
.067=140hp
.072=175hp
With bigger injecter and Cheater solenoids
.082=200hp
.085=260hp.

At this point a single nozzle is maxed and a second needs to be added

Now the fuel side gets tricky because the only guy at NOS who knew the formula left.

What we do know for stock Fuel pressure regulater. the FIRST thing you have to think about is it is backwards on this kit. for MORE fuel pressure you want to use a SMALLER "F" jet in the "T". The "T" should have the jet on the manifold vacuum port. As the size of the Jet goes smaller the more presure that is forced on the Fuel Pressure regulater. Just like a FMU this artificaly raises Fuel pressure giving you the extra fuel you need to Match the N2O being added.

With Stock injecters NEVER go with a smaller jet then a .059F. this is boarderline lock as it is. For every .002F you go UP fuel pressure goes DOWN ONE PSI.

Tunes I know work on Dyno.

45N+67F=80hp
49N+65F=100hp
72N+54F=175hp

I will be using 30# injecters this year so tuning will start at base Zero "Rich" and get leaner from there

Best advise to use with what I have given you here is a NOS Surface area chart to figure actual fluid and air displaced by each jet used

I could have never got this far with out the help of Jeff Taylor, "Injuneer Fred" and Jimbob65.

if anyone of them has any thing to say on the subject they are VERY well versed on it MUCH more then the Holley tech....
