ignorant on the spray, 'lil help please....

hey guys...I'm running the mods listed below with the NOS 5176 kit...where should i mount the nozzle, since this is a dry shot do i have to mount before the MAF so that the ECM knows to add the xtra fuel? also since there is no fuel solenoid how does the motor know to add the extra fuel? I just want to make sure that I have everything right before i go poppin' the pill and blow my sh*t sky high...all help appreciated thanks 'yall

One of the joys of having a DRY shot Why didn't you go with a WET kit? A lot simpler/safer.

I have run a dry shot on one car ('04 Altima in sig), although not a LT1. I mounted the nozzle after the MAF just before the TB. The theory behind mounting it BEFORE the MAF is that the computor will automatically add fuel, but I have heard of people freezing/messing up their MAFs doing this (I didn't say ALL people). Either place you mount it (before or after), the computor should pick up the fact that more air is being added, and thus should richen things up abit. BUT, just keep in mind that you're relying on the computor to add extra fuel, and relying on your stock injectors to handle that extra fuel (if you haven't replaced them).

On my LT1 (the '96 Z in sig) I ran a 150 WET shot on a basically sotck motor, for a little over a year and a half with no problems. With a WET kit YOU add the extra fuel and you know it's getting it.

Good Luck, Jon

If its a dry kit there should be a regulator that comes inbetween the solinoids. You run a vaccum hose to the port on the fuel pressure regulator. Thats how it gets its fuel by bumping up the pressure.

the 05176 kit for the lt1 puts the nozzle AFTER the MAF. i had one on my 94 Z28 years ago. it should have 2 n2o solenoids. you put a "T" between them and run a vacuum line to the regulator. it also comes with an inline fuel pump. the kit is rated at 125hp. stock my car went 13.60. on the bottle it went 12.24 @ 113.90. this was an auto with 2.73 gears to boot.

what you will do is run a vacuum line to the FPR located at the back of the manifold. then you'll make a "T" connection there also. that way you can hook the fatory vacuum line to one side, the line from the "T" at the solenoid on another side, then line from the "T" to the FPR.

do you have the instructions? you can call them and get one.

DO NOT put the nozzle before the MAF . You will blow the MAF
clear to hell . Put it AFTER the MAF sensor . Good luck and happy
spraying
