How much does bottle pressure really matter??

Obviously a warmer bottle (but not to warm, ie warm enough for 1300 psi) will make a nitrous setup work better, but how much does it really matter??

I just bought me a bottle heater and Im wondering what to expect with it. Ive used the spray when its cold and warm out and you can sure tell the difference. What do you figure, 20 hp difference from 1000 psi to 800??

I know this is a dumb Q, but I am just curious.

The heater dosent only help the hp it keeps the shot that you are spraying stay in its calibrated range because when you bottle press is low if your jets are unchaged you will run too rich and the oppisite if you have too much bottle press.

It makes the difference between your 150 shot being a 150 shot at ~900psi, or a 60hp shot at 400psi (around 40-50* temps if I recall.)

Go to nosnitrous.com, they have an article on bottle pressure that is more accurate than my lousy memory, but it's a whopping difference.

Re: How much does bottle pressure really matter??

I was going to play with pressures after I get my car back together. I was starting at 1200psi and finsh at 850psi at the end of the pass. I was trying to figure if I lower the pressure to 900 what would the pressure at the trap be? I might put a bigger jet in to make up for the loss of 300 psi. My concearn is will this system help me get a mph or so on the far end without going to a 20 pound bottle for volume?
