Not to hijack, this thread is very helpful to beginners w/spray on LT1's. I intend to do similar on a '93. Will the MSD 6-series boxes do the job as effectively as the Mallory, or is that just preference. Thanks.

MSD 6's just retard the timing. No built in window switch, functions for two-step, etc. If you already have one, its cheaper to buy their window switch and wire it in with it. But if not, the Mallory is a better buy. One problem seems to be longevity with the Mallory's but I only use mine for on the spray. I use the bypass connector the rest of the time.

the MSD Digital 6 does include a 2 step...the only difference is the Mallory 685 has a window switch.

Yeah I get what you're saying now, and that sounds like a good idea to bypass it when not on the bottle, seems worth the $ to me. Appreciate the advice.
