How much?
How much?
My new 355 will have.... Eagle forged crank, rods, srp pistons,heads/cam etc.. My question is how much spray will it hold(with enough fuel and enough timing pulled...) Also do i need to have the piston clearances set up differently for me spraying a big shot rather than go na?
Thanks

The SRP pistons are good pistons but not as good as the JE line.
I would say 250-300 at the most.Make sure to go ahead and do splayed caps and run some good rings.

Re: How much?
Straight from the mouth of a JE Tech.
SRP can handle up to a 200 shot and the JE's can go to 250.
I would imagine that 200 is a conservative estimate as they wouldn't tell you to run the pistons at the very ragged edge.
Also the rings must be gapped correctly for the amount of spray you intend to use so that the ends don't but together when they expand. The ring manufacture should be able to give you the proper ring gap for your application.

I'm not an engine builder but I have heard different stories from different builders.
Ring gap can be and probably is different from manufacter to manufacter.
Some say that you will lose a little NA power by going with a bigger ring gap but some builders feel like the difference is much smaller than some make it out to be.
Personally, I'll take a little HP lose ... and an engine that is much more likely to survive the nitrous and live to tell about it.
