how does nos work?
how does nos work?
i know it either just sprays nos (dry), or mixes with fuel (wet), and then goes into your engine. but how is it realeased? does it continue to spray as you shift gears? does it spray for a certain number of seconds, or do you have to hold the button down when you want it?
NOS is composed of 1 nitrogen atom and 2 oxygen atoms which makes for a very oxygen rich mixture. the more oxygen you have in the air/fuel mix... the larger explosion youre gonna have in the combustion chamber which equates to more power.

yea...i didn't ask about the chemical makeup...i'm aware of what n20 is made of....and i know the more it sprays the bigger the shot = more hp. 50 shot = 50 hp boost. but how does it spray? continuously for like 5 seconds? does it continue to spray between shifts? or do you hold a button to spray it when you want it goin?
You press the button and then you act like you get thrown back in your seat and you make a face like...
"WHHOOAAAAAAA"
At least thats what I've seen in the movies.
Oh yeah, and look out the window cuz it will make everything look blurry.

LOL, and don't forget that upshifting makes you speed up even faster...
Nitrous Oxide can be activated by a Wide open throttle switch (on when the pedal is floored) or a momentary switch (a button).....it will spray through shifts if u dont have a window switch set up to shut off the flow just b4 a shift and turn it back on just after (based on RPM). on a momentary switch set up, u usually have to hold the button for as long as u want it to spray....(its not like the movies where u tap a button and nitrous magically sprays for an extended period of time)...
also a wet nitrous setup mixes the nitrous with fuel prior to injecting it into the motor....the dry setup still REQUIRES extra fuel but the way it works (at least on a modern Mass Air Meter controlled engine like an LS1) is the nitrous is injected BEFORE the mass air, tricking it into thinking theres a huge amount of extra air pouring in, which prompts the motor to dump in a lot more fuel.

There are different ways you can use it. You can hook it up so that you release the N20 via taps, then when you press a button it injects (which I believe is the most common way). And please don't call it NOS/NAWS. That is in fact a brand name, not the name for nitrous.
BTW like was said....don't call it nos.....everyone who doesn't know what nitrous is or does calls it "nos" cuz they watch movies.....U know what it is now lol
so call it nitrous....this way u won't sound ignorant or like a ricer.
not a flame by the way, it just sounds uneducated to people when its referred to as "nos".

i'm aware its nitrous...just felt like saying nos. at least i didn't say nawwwwwwws. and i know it doesn't make everything go all blurry and cool looking. i just asked a simple ****ing question, and of course, i get 10 unrelated answers, and 5 correcting me something that doesn't matter.
anyways...when did that "n20" specific forum get there
