Re: how do i set my timing?

i know that the ecu will reset any adjustment i make to thetiming but if i was to buy a power programer like those from summit or jegs catalogs would i be able to hack into the timing and set it that way?

Do yourself a favor if you haven't already, and get yourself a MSD digital 6 ignition box (or equilivant) so that you have a much hotter spark, as well as a revlimiter that will cut spark "NOT" fuel, like the stock factory limiter... if you hit the factory revlimiter by accident just one time while spraying, It will be goodbye motor......With the digital 6 you'll also be able to dial in exactly how much timing retard you want to pull out when you arm the nitrous.....I would also send in the PCM to have the stock rev-limiter raised up to it's max (around 7200) so it's no longer in the picture........

Very good advice there. Thats the proper way to do it. Or you could have it all tuned out of the computer but the timing is gone all the time. Whereas the box will only retard when nitrous is on...... We could get you a deal on one so give us a shout if your interested...

Didn't even think about asking is this an LS1/LT1 or what is it on?
