how 2 not scratch bottle?

what are some of you guys doing to prevent scratching up your bottle?

i have 15 lbs NX bottle, and after a few times in and out, it was scratched to hell...

since ive repainted it and would like to prevent it from being messed up.

i was using the standard flimsy bottle brackets

do any of the other replacement brackets work better and are worth the big extra bucks?

or would some kind of tape or adhesive material on the inside of the brackets do?

ray, i was thinking about those cause im in the same situation, however i have the 860 heated bracket setup, so the brackets wouldnt be transfering heat, and i dont think the brackets would be able to work with the cradle from the 860 setup anyways. any ideas?

the brackets themselves will not work...but you could transfer the rubber sleeves over to the 860 brackets, as they are the same width

I have custom brackets, but I just slapped on some weather stripping and it works great.

You could also try those bottle brackets made out of heavy duty plastic, I have a set but wont be able to get them til the 30th b/c Im out of town.
