Re: Headgaskets

That big of a shot why not look into the Cometic? You can get them in .040 thickness.

Re: Headgaskets

Already had my motor designed for that thickness. Do you not think they will handle that much power?

Re: Headgaskets

I have only heard good things about the Cometic. It will set you back about $75 bucks depending on bore. I dont think .01 is going to make a difference.
Why not get the best after spending that much money already. The Fel-Pro will work, but I like to overbuild so I know its going to last.

Re: Headgaskets

Do a search for the name Cometic. Scoggin Dickey carries them. I have even seen sets on Ebay. The only bad thing, Summit or Jegs dont have them.

And opps, I meant .001 difference in thickness.

Re: Headgaskets

Do they make them in .039 thickness and 4.030 bore?

Re: Headgaskets

The only thing I can find in thier catalog is .040 thickness. They do have them for 4.030 bore, but they are SBC style. The 2 they list for LT1 are 4.040, 4.110 bore, both at .040 thickness.

Re: Headgaskets

Where can you find them for $75.

Cheapest I've found them is 60 per side.
Do a search...I remember a thread on here before where people were putting decent boast to the fel-pro gaskets and I think some mentioned nitrous.

Re: Headgaskets

They are $75 ea. on Ebay. Sorry I wasnt clear.
I am sure the Fel-Pro would hold. I have only heard good things about the Cometics, so thats what I was passing on.
