Having problems with Mallory 685

I'm using the Mallory 685 to control my N20 stuff, so heres the problem. The box is installed where the center console normally is. It worked fine for awhile then one day the car would run for a little then die. When I bypassed the box it ran fine. I got a new box and it does the same thing, car will occasionally start and run fine for a munute then it dies, but most of the time it won't even start. I'm going to try and move the box closer to the coil today to see if that helps. I really need to get this figured out, I haven't even sprayed my car yet because it can't get the box to work. Something is wired wrong in my N20 wiring but I cant figure out what it is until i figure out why the Mallory isn't working. So if anybody has any ideas that'd be great.
Thanks!

Thanks Mike, I'll see if I can get by later this week. I'm going to try the things you mention before then to see if that works. I did get the opti swapped and the car does run better, I think she is itching to find out what a bit of N20 will propel her down the track at. I just wanted to see if anybody else had any ideas, I'll give you a call this week.

Maybe we can go to the track together, my car is supposed to be done and ready to go Friday!!!!

We'll see if I can keep up with the 396 and the 250 shot.

My 685 recently died too. Was working fine, then one day while pulling out of the driveway the car died and wouldn't restart. Bypassed it, and it started just fine.

All the wiring/setting are the same (using an MSD wiring harness). I just sent an email to Mallory today. Everything looks fine on it; powers up just fine, but the car won't fire w/ it hooked up.

I used to have problems w/ my MSD Digital 6. Every time it was replaced under warranty. The 3rd one was working fine, then I decided to sell it to get this ignition. Damn I have some bad luck.

The way mine is wired, the WOT switch used to short out and blow the cigarette lighter fuse (power source to the ignition box) therefore the car will not start. Bypassing the box or replacing the fuse cures the problem and I fixed the short in the wiring. Joe, sounds like that may be your problem. snksknr94, i doubt that's whats wrong with yours, but good luck. Ignition woes suck.

Got a VM from snksknr94 on this, was his constant power lead not connected completely...

Mine dies due to heat/being in the engine compartment.

I need to send it back while I'm breaking in the motor and get it swapped out.
