Re: Guys running hot cam and Nitrous read
I have a Hotcam in my car, except its on a 110 LSA instead of a normal 112. The 112 is better for nitrous though. I am spraying a wet 100 shot and I havent had a problem yet with it. The car responds well and pulls like no other.

Mine is running fine as well. I finally got my tranny redone and am taking the bottle to get filled and dynoed again in the a.m.. I've got a 3200 vig and with the additional 100 shot, it pulls like a s.o.b.

The Hotcam is real good all around cam for street cars. My Transam ran 12.30's@110mph with a Hotcam kit, AS&M midlengths, 2800 Vigialnte, 3.42's, boltons, mailorder tune and some ET tsreets. With a 150HP NX the car ran 11.40's@121mph on pump gas, driven to and from the track. The car was my daily driver and I made a ton of passes at the track and the street before I to go 11's N/A and 10's on n2o. It is totally doable with the Hotcam but when I had the heads ported I decided to go with a bigger cam too. Now I am in the process of putting some Trickflow heads and a Victor singleplane intake. The speed bug never ends. Goodluck. Later Clint

It is never a good idea to run platinum plugs with nitrous. The extra heat generated will melt the tip and blow the puck off the plug. I am running Autolite104's and i like them, others like to use the NGK-TR6's.

In a '96 Vette through stock exhaust (116K cats as well) and an LT1 to LT4/Hotcam conversion, 2800rpm stall and TNT nitrous setup I put down 422RWHP (DynoJet).
Fuel pressure at 50psi, TNT 75hp fuel jets (dual .018) and 100hp nitrous jets (dual .039), bottle at 950psi.
NA it normally put down around 305RWHP (DynoJet) converter unlocked.
A/F on nitrous was a pretty flat 12:1. Perfectly safe.
Am running NGK TR-6's at .038 and using LT1 Edit to pull out 3 degrees of timing above 4000rpm (which really isn't needed). I could probably gain a few RWHP NA and boosted with the normal timing. But it's a toy and I like it to be available for abuse.
That was a year ago. My setup is a bit changed now .
