Is this a good nitrous controller?
Is this a good nitrous controller?
I read the thread down a bit about the NOS controllers but I was looking at getting this one. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=2312 I'll be running the TNT wet kit, probably a 75-125 shot. I know some of you guys are going to say that is too small of a shot to even worry about a progressive kit, but the easier I can make this on the motor the better.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Well here's the skinny on a 75-125 shot:
1. You shouldn't need a progressive controller in order to hookup - spend the $200 on suspension first.
2. If you're looking at it more as a window switch/nitrous retard function - look at the Mallory 685 instead as it has all that and it's equivilant to the MSD 6A + window switch + switch activated retard + 2 stage rev limiter - $219.99 if you search on the web for Mallory 685
Specific comments on the Jacobs range from sucks to love it.....
Progressive controllers massively diminish the life of solenoids, just FYI.
Hope this helps!
Mike
P.S. If you want to see the Mallory you can check it out when I borrow the spring compressor from ya.... I'll give ya a ride in my new 175hp shot Impy!

I agree with Racin, I was never happy with mine, sold it and bought a Schnitz progressive unit

You might want to look at the NX controller, I've heard good things about it.
mtxpert has a point, if you set the car up right you could launch on a full shot, but if your like me and have the car set up as a daily driver and don't want to change out springs and shocks everytime you go to the drags a progressive unit helps.

The Jacobs sucks!!!! And for 100 to 175 shot? No controller should be needed with that little shot. Spend some doe on some bigger rims and put a set of M/T ET streets on and fire away.
Hell, I come up on the transbreak and coming out of the hole spraying 250hp.
100,175? No need for controller! But if electronics is what you desire the Shinitz controller is the way to go. I ran there single stage model controller on my Hayabusa. It's one of the best out.
When you call down there you might get lucky and speak to Ryan Shnitz, he is one of the top guy's to beat in drag bike. But if you don't get him the girls are sharp as a tack when it come to questions.
Good Luck!
