going up to a 175-200 shot

I have no way of backing off timing but I will be running 104 unleaded I also run autolite 103's gaped @40 if you guys have any more info on things I should do before spraying a 200 shot let me know I dont think the 175 will be a problem.and this will just be for one night our local track is having a heads up street car race. and I think I will need the 200 shot to be competive.(Pray for me )

i going to try the same thing with the 200 shot but first im buying a bigger fuel pump just to be on the safe side. won't a msd multi-step retart box be helpful? good luck i'll watch for your results

i wouldnt do it without a timing retard. There are no other tips, other then make sure the fuel system is working damn near perfectly.

I ran exactly what you stated above. 104 Sunoco, Autolite 103's @ .040 and a 175 shot NX with no timing removed. I've sprayed 3 bottles without an issue on the 75k stock shortblock.

yeah I need to pass his 7.09 I hope with tration, less weight and the xtra juice I can. my best is a 7.50 with a 1.68 60ft.I think this will be my last time out with the stock heads and cam.I was wanting to hit 6's on the stock motor but if I get close I will go ahead and put them on.

I would say if you are running the "stock" bottom end the main things you are gonna need is:

1) Adaquate fuel pump
2) MSD digital 6 or retard box to take out 2 degress of timing
3) 100 or better octane fuel
4) And some good tires to put that power to the ground...
