flo-through manifold is leaking....

well i have my fuel source coming from the shrader valve, then into about a one foot long 4an line then into my flo through manifold pictured here....http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store...?idproduct=217

then i have the fuel pressure sending unit and Fuel pressure safety switch mounted to it, and the fuel solenoid on the outlet side.

well i smelled fuel constantly since i installed my kit so i finally found where its coming from. all of the NPT fittings have carefully wrapped teflon tape, but on the FPSS, sending unit as well as the fitting INTO the fuel noid, they seem yellowish/brown like fuel has saturated them. well i crank the hell outa all the fittings and made them much tigher, but im afraid im about to strip the fitting into the noid anyways, theyre all pretty tight and i wiped everything down and got it all dry and turned the key on to get the fuel pressure up there and it began leaking somewhat slowly but steadily from the manifold, and it seems as if its leaking from in between the female swivel port and the hexagon/octagon body of the manifold where the actual accesory ports are located. im not sure if it has something to do with being a swivel fitting but im pretty sure its leaking mostly from there. should it be doing this for any reason. i can tigthen it more, but i dont wana break or strip anything. would i be better off going with a solid one like this.... http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store...p?idproduct=27

however, obviously i wont be able to turn my accesories exactly where i want them. any help is great.

have you contacted DynoTune, I am pretty sure Dan or Dean will take care of the problem.

no i have not. i talked to the autos teacher at my school and he said that the teflon tape might not work with the fuel fittings, instead the paste should. which would help a considerable amount with my problem. im just hoping the manifold itself isnt bad.

just noticed you said ....TAPE.....for various reason you should never use teflon tape anywhere.

It is reccomended to use teflon paste or red loc-tite on the NPT fitting.

The tape can have small pieces tear off and become lodged in the solenoids causing all kinds of problems.

yea i was aware of this, however i was warned that if i wrapped it carefully and tightly,(also wrapped in direction so it would get tighter as the fitting did) i wouldnt hae any problems. so i know theres no problems with the tape clogging or tearing apart, but will it let fuel leak past it as opposed to the paste?

if your manifold is leaking from the swivel portion...it is not an issue with the tape. It is a problem with the manifold.

yea im gonna drain the system and redo all the NPT fittings with paste and tighten the hell outa the NPT sides and see if it remains dry or not, although it really seems like that swivel portion is the leaking area, idk well see. thanks for the help Ray!
