A/F Gauge Beneficial?

I'm thinking about buying a TNT wet kit from a friend of mine and spraying a 100 shot on my LT1. He's got a nitrous pressure gauge that I plan on using, and also got an A/F gauge (the autometer style with the red/green light bars). I've heard various comments on the board about this gauge and was wondering if it will actually serve any purpose with the bottle on the car or if it's just a light show. I guess it shows WOT A/F...so is this to show if for some reason it's lean when the nitrous is being used? Just wondering if it's useful or not. Anyone?

Where's a good place to pick up a scanmaster? I've been told but I forgot where. Thanks.
