Dyno Results after 150 shot
Well I finally got my car tuned yesterday. I bought the tunercat program and had my car tuned by LS1source.The car was tuned for the nitrous so we pulled around 3 degrees of timing out for the 150 shot so my car is the strongest with N20.
Base tune: 289.5rwhp 323.2rwtq
150 Shot: 416.9rwhp 523.8rwtq
Im pretty happy with the results. I guess I have a torque monster now
. Im just wondering why I made so much more torque then horse. Usually they are about equal.Right?

Re: Dyno Results after 150 shot
Nitrous always makes more tq than hp. At lower rpms it's still spraying the same amount so it has more cylinder pressure than at higher rpms where your making peak hp.
BTW, what jet sizes were those?

Thanks...We dynoed it on a dynojet. I will have to look at my paper but my dyno guy has it. Im sure that the N20 jet was 38 and I think the fuel was a 46 put not positive. Im heading to the pontiac nationals at Norwalk Ohio this weekend to watch my dyno guy race (ls1source).Car will be there at there trailor if you guys stop in.
Re: Dyno Results after 150 shot
where are you spraying as far as rpm goes? that initial torque spike is what will hurt a block more often then not, with 525TQ, i would be somewhat weary. spraying further into the rpms will net similar hp gains, but the torque will not be so substantial. if your wanting to have longevity, but retain a 150 shot, you may want to consider multiple stages, say a 50 at 3000, and 100 at 4000, same power, but softens the torque spiking.

My peak stock on 150 was 510 tq, and that was a little past 3k.
Re: Dyno Results after 150 shot
eh, i dont like the progressive controllers just for the reason they flutter the solenoids and it seems as if that would cause alot of premature wear. i wish they made a something like i proportioning valve i guess you would call it. where the valve(or jet) itself begins to enlarge its opening. not sure how intricate something like that would be.

if you have both all your noids set to be on at a lower rpm than your shift point, the only difference will be the power going down on the launch, so your 60' might be affected...for some people all that torque down low causes traction issues. so times could improve. but its a case to case thing.
