Death blow to N2O?

The price of N2O in my area has doubled in the last week. We are now looking at $9 a pound. The story I got was that there is now only one company in North America that bottles N2O. There used to be two but one bought the other and now has a monopoly on the market. This could be a death blow to the N2O comunity. At these prices it is cheaper to go forced induction over the long run.

Has anyone's else been hit by higher N2O prices in their area yet?

Ouch, that sucks. Out in socal area i'm paying $3.00 to $4.00 a pound depends on which shop you fill from. Maybe you should hook up with some local folks and invest on a re-fill station, or fine a local medical bottle re-fill supply depot and fine out what they charge.

Wow... I don't use Nitrous, but know people that do, and know a few speed shops that fill them..

I think whoever told you that there is only one refiller for the distributors in the NE and the monopoly thing, is full of just to be able to ask more for their refills...

Even if that were true, you don't think the speed shops would order form cheaper suppliers? Even with extra shipping from CA it'd be chaper..

There is a way by the internet if you use your zip code will aid you on a location. Maybe someone will know how to point you to the right direction. Another way is there a local speed shop in your area? They will know for sure.

Heck I can even beat those prices. Send me all your nitrous bottles and I will fill your bottles up at 5.00lb. It's nice when you have a big cylinder and refill station in your car trailer. I for sure don't miss taking my bottle to those ******** shops that rip ya off and always require that your bottle be frozen to fill because they don't have a refill station.

Good Luck!
