copper plugs?

I know platinum or other precious metal spark plugs are not recommended for use with nitrous, but when referring to regular, or copper plugs, does that mean the entire plug, including the electrode, etc, must be copper, or just the core?

Re: copper plugs?

So you can run platinum tipped, or other precious metal plugs as long as they have a solid copper core?

Re: copper plugs?

No...... The metal platinum should go nowhere close to a nitrous engine... Just run plain old copper plugs.... If they're not advertised as some other metal, then they are most likely copper....

Re: copper plugs?

So what if the spark plug has a copper core, but is nickel plated, such as the autolite racing plugs?

Re: copper plugs?

I use autolite racing plugs PN AR3932, but I've got a Gen1 small block.... Those should be fine. Things to keep in mind is to gap them down to about 35, and on big shots of nitrous to use a non projected tip plug, with a cut-back ground strap.... Just do a search on this forum, and you'll find plenty of spark plug related topics...
