CompuCar Nitrous?
CompuCar Nitrous?
Has anybody ever heard of these people?
My friend is interested in buying their nitrous in a bag hidden dry kit...$350...
WHen i called them they told me that instead of a steel braided line between the bottle and the nozzle they said it comes with plastic tubing...having myself used nitrous for about 5 months i asked her how safe and reliable that is at 1000psi and she told me it was perfectly safe...i'm still pretty skeptical...
i'm wondering if anybody has ever used that kit or know anybody that has so they could comment on it.....and tell me if it's worht the money or should i tell my friend to go and save up another 150 dollars and get a NX kit...
Thanks in advance for your replies....

Used it, many friends have used it for the last 5yrs or so that they've been selling it. I live about 10min from them.
Where you may be confused is that coming off the bottle is about 4 inches of braided line. This goes into the soleniod. Coming from the output side of the solenoid is black plastic vacuum line which you run up to the engine bay. Since when the solenoid is closed the only line that is under pressure is the braided one. When the soleniod is open,....the plastic line really isn't under any pressure b/c it's releasing into the motor. Works great, and easy to hide. I run the times in my sig with this exact kit. xxsaint69x on here has also used this kit.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

hi-psi...
thanks for answering...
btw...does the kit still come with a nozzle like regural nitorus kits?....
Is the kit still just as effective if i mount the bottle in the trunk and that's where the soloneid would be....
what kind of activation scheme does the kit come with?
how many inches before the maf do you have it installed? (the nozzle...or perhaps right in the air box)
Do you have any pictures or any links of people that have this kit?
Does the bottle come with brackets or just "in the bag"?
Thanks in advance for answering....

Kit comes with no nozzle, at the end of the black vacuum line it attaches to about a 4-6 inch section of brake line. This is what you wedge in the intake stream.
Kit should work fine with the bottle in the trunk. (however see below)
The bottle comes mounted to a peice of plywood. This is then put inside of a black gym bag. Most of the time, I've seen guys just lay this bag in the back seat or pass. rear floor board. Just looks like a plain old gym bag sitting there. When ready,...just unzip enough of the bag to reach in and turn the bottle on. Then grab the power cord. There will be a cord assembly that you pull out the bag. There will be a cigarette lighter adapter that you plug in to power the system, then a trigger button. When ready, hit the button and hold on.
I have mine setup about 4 inches in front of the MAF.
I have some pics of my install on my Vette, but none on a F-body.

after your explanation i finally see how it can be installed in 10 minutes or less..
It would definitely be usefull when hooking up in a rental car for some friday night rice hunting.....lol
btw...how do you regulate the amount of nitrous sprayed..hp wise if there is no nozzle.....?
thanks in advance for replying....

i must say the nitrous in a bag kit works very well, i had it on my 95 z28 and will also be installing it on my 96ss, kit is simple to hook up, you are in control of the button not some micro switch that can get stuck and screw you, i found this to be the best kit out of all the other kits out there and its just as effective, i went from a 13.8@ 101.mph to a 13.2 @ 111.mph on just a 6cyl jet as it comes with 5 jets to choose from, if i went to the largest jet i probably would have ripped off a easy low 12 sec pass, not too bad for a kit that hooks up in 10 min and fits inside a gym bag
i recomend this kit highly, safe fun to use and simple to install...

I have seen the GMHTP bolt on winner run this same set up on the largest shot to a 11.22@120+ tapping the rev limiter at the 1000' mark.
I would say it is a good kit. also would recommend a window switch or something to cut it off if you miss a shift in an M6 car.

you dont need a window switch, you are in control of the button, and most people with compucar kit spray when they have already shifted, its fool proof, best kit for the money,
