Breaking up with 100shot

i just finished installing a 100hp wet shot, went out to spray it and it feels like its losing power, breaking up, poping at 5-5500rpm. i checked the fuel and nitros both are spraying fine. 383 w/ stock ignition

Did you gap the plugs to around .035 or so? To much gap will do that. Also a lean condition can cause the same effect.

I have had a similar problem. It turned out that the car was running rich. It would sputter and stop gaining rpms when i ran the nitrous. I went to a smaller fuel jet and it picked right up. Just a possibility.

Thatd be the last thing I would try, if you were already lean you would kiss your motor bye bye.

Check the plug gap as mentioned. Also a aftermarket ignition might help. My car wouldn't go pass 5,200ish before I put the MSD on.

I agree with 12seconds the last thing you want to do is get to lean.

i switched out the tr55's for the tr6's havent tested it yet but im guessing its also running lean on the juice because the fuel pressures set at 35psi. with the vacuum line on the AFPR connected the pressure will drop 5psi under acceleration. with it disconnected it will hold at 35psi. im setting the pressure back to 43-45 and getting it dyno tunned before i spray again. im also picking up a 6al. should the pressure drop under acceleration/reving

Check your plug gap I had the same problem. Also I would look into the Didgital 6 Plus from MSD It has alot of nice features, like the adjustable rev-limiter, You can make it retard timing when the nitrous solenoid is activated. It is also Digital so the throttle response is more crisp or feels more accurate. where as the 6al is analog. I had a 6al, and I upgraded to the digital 6 It is much nicer and if you are going to make the investment in an ignition I would look into that one. I bought mine used online for $200 shipped and it works GREAT I would Highly reccomend!!
