i have a 00' ss and was wondering everyones opinion on brands and kits.

TNT, Fuel pressure safety switch, LS1 Edit or a Ramcharger Nitrous timing tuner. Also consider upgrading to a better intank fuel pump for added safety. I run a racetronixs 340, but a Walbro 255 or 340 should work for ya.

The NX kit is also pretty good, but a prefer the twin fogger design and the power ring. The TNT has better dyno numbers, but only by a small margin. The more important issue is protecting the motor.
