Best LT-1 N2O cam?
Best LT-1 N2O cam?
Okay I am about to buy myself a N2o setup, with all the bells and whistles. I want to run nothing bigger than a 150 shot. I currently have a 222/232 cam in the car, but I am looking for a cam that will be more benificial on gas and off gas. The bottom end is stock, but I have forged pistons.
I choose a 218/230 114LSA XE grind w/ 1.6rr cam myself, on *mild self port* heads and intake. I couldnt give you a dyno before, or after yet, but I can tell you, when tuned, it is certainly a nice cam. It dosent gurgle at idle, but it does pound a bit. You can tell the car has a cam in it. But on low end, you loose a tiny tiny bit at part throttle and under 1200rpm, but not much. But at WOT at even 1500rpm, the car howls foreward. Problem: Because of the 114 lsa, a similar cam on a 112 will have additional power, but it is a blower/nitrous cam, so you want the greater lsa.
Otherwise, with the proper valvetrain (talk to cmotorsports) the car runs like a champ. I've seen no lack in power, and my gas milage hasnt dropped an ounce, if you care. I still have the stock gears of 3.42 in my 6spd, and honestly, it would benefit taller ones, but I'm not going that route yet.
Great cam for sure!
