Anyway to wire bottle opener like a power antenna???

With a power antenna, when power goes to it the motor sends the antenna up and the motor stops when it's all the way up. Then when the power is taken away from it the motor sends the antenna down and stops when it's at the bottom.

I have the purple NX bottle opener. Is there anyway to run relays or anything so that the opener just opens the bottle when I arm the system (sending constant power like the remote with for the antenna does) and closes the bottle when I shut the system off?

I am asking because I have too many friggin switches as it is and am trying to cut back . Thanks for any input!

You can run more than one item off the same switch. I have my purge activated by the arming switch.

That's my plan but the way the bottle opener works now the motor just runs untill you stop sending power to it. Then when you reverse polarity it runs the other way untill you stop sending power to it.

I want it to automatically open all the way up and stop itself when power is applied and when power is removed automatically close and stop itself. Just like a power antenna.

If you have any electronics experience or maybe a friend that does...you could probably hook up a capacitor some how so it only powers the opener for the time it takes to open the valve. Not sure how to reverse the polarity...maybe another capacitor and some creativity.

I haven't slept for about 22 hours so I'm kinda fuzzy...I'd give more help if I could.

Go to any decent stereo/alarm install shop and tell them what you're trying to do. They have catalogs with all sort of electronic time delay switches typically used for activating amp racks or motorized features. The key is to not overrun the motor which, as you found out, will continue to try to turn as long as you send power to it.

My NOS remote bottle opener will open any time power is applied and close when it is removed. This is precisely what you're wanting it to do. I don't know how you'd wire an NX opener to do that though.
